Got Questions? Good. We've Got Answers

  • What is different about Golden Quinoa?

Golden Quinoa is a new variety of quinoa that’s grown in Canada and is completely different from the white, red, or tricolor quinoa varieties. Quinoa has many different varieties, just like basmati rice, jasmine rice, and sticky rice are different varieties of rice and have different flavors and textures. We choose to grow Golden Quinoa because it’s so delicious, with a nuttier flavor and heartier (more rice-like!) texture. Plus, it’s easier to cook – no need to measure, just cook Golden Quinoa like pasta.

For stickier quinoa that’s more rice-like:

    • Use a 1.5-to-1 water-to-quinoa ratio. (For example, 1.5 cups water and 1 cup quinoa)
    • Use the white rice cooking option on your rice cooker.
    • Enjoy!

This method is perfect for our Cheesy Broccoli recipe, to substitute rice in any recipe, or quinoa sushi!

    For fluffier, crumbly quinoa:

    • Use a 1-to-1 water-to-quinoa ratio (for example, 1 cup water and 1 cup quinoa). Combine the quinoa with 1.5 Tbsp. of olive oil, mixing to get an even coat, then add in the water.
    • Use the white rice cooking option on your rice cooker.
    • Eat up!
  • Where is your quinoa grown?

Our quinoa is grown in Western Canada, primarily in the Saskatchewan province. We work directly with Canadian farmers to grow our unique quinoa varietal. We’re proud that we can pinpoint exactly where each bag of quinoa was grown by the packaging lot code.
